Date Night w/ My Little Man

Monday Evening Landon & I had a long overdue date night. I was super excited to spend an evening w/ my little man...Landon was....well....
....Tired as we drove to Hagerstown. He was a pretty quiet date on our drive.
I gave him the choice of going to Subway or Chick-fil-A for dinner. Secretly hoping that he would choose my favorite-Chick-fil-A-which he did!!
We ate at Chick-fil-A & after a little begging & please Mommy's, I gave in & allowed Landon to play in the indoor play area. This was a big step for me as I am a germ-a-phobe. As he was going in, he said to me "Mommy use a hand wipe when I am done". haha
After we left Chick-fil-A and the indoor play area, we went to the outlets in Hagerstown. So funny how much my prior shopping addiction has changed from a few years ago...I went to the outlets and only went to one store....Stride Rite.

Landon was so excited to have new shoes. He asked to wear them home. As we were walking to the car, he said "Mommy these fit me, they don't hurt my feet at all Mommy". The sneakers we had been wearing on him were a whole size smaller than the new one's! Apparently they felt pretty good because he ran in circles the whole back to the car!

We had a great date night and hope to be able to have another sometime soon.

A Day at Raystown Lake

On Saturday, the boys & I joined Nana, Pappy, Uncle Davey, Hannah, Aunt Connie & Gruv at Raystown Lake for the day for an Adventure.
Some of the crew arrived early at the lake, with the boat, while the rest of us arrived a little after 9am. Despite our good intentions for a fun day out on the lake w/ the boat, a majority of the day was spent trying to figure out & fix the boat. Gruv, Aunt Connie, Aaron & Landon took the boat out in the am for about 45 minutes, then the troubles began. It stalled and wouldn't start again. After Aaron & I drove in town for a gas can & gas & had the boat filled up, we docked it to eat an early lunch & then head out on the lake.
Landon practiced his tube riding!
Gruv, Aaron, Landon, Uncle Davey, Hannah and myself headed out on the boat after lunch, while Pappy, Nana & Aunt Connie stayed back with Liam for some relaxation.
Aaron & Landon tubed for awhile. Landon loved it!!
It took a few attempts to get him & Daddy in the tube together, but once he was in, he didn't want to get out!!
Once Landon was back in the boat, Daddy remained out on the tube for awhile. Gruv let Landon drive. He was so excited to be driving the boat while Daddy was tubing. He even tried to flip Daddy off a few times by turning the boat from side to side.
As Hannah was in the tube & ready to go, the boat wouldn't start.....she wouldn't start for anything. We sat for at least 30 minutes, trying again, again & again to get it to start...but....nothing. During this time, the boys enjoyed swimming in the lake. Landon loved being able to just bob around in the water. Mommy was a nervous wreck of course!!
We finally gave up...Davey & I began to try to flag a boat down. One boat drove right passed...looking at us...but kept going. Before we knew it we had about 5 boats circling around us asking if we needed help. Many offered a jump, but Gruv knew that was not the issue. So a nice man, his boat & passengers, towed us in to the closest dock area. Pappy came to the rescue, picking up myself, Landon & Aaron. Once back at the picnic area, Pappy, Landon & I headed to the beach area to swim,
Nana grabbed a chair & a good book, while Aunt Connie took Liam for a walk in his stroller, where he fell asleep, while Aaron took a vehicle w/ the carrier for the boat & headed back to pick up the boat and the rest of the crew. It must have been an ordeal getting the boat on the carrier and back to where it is kept....glad I missed out on that fun!
Once everyone was back to the picnic area, we had an early dinner. Landon enjoyed playing in the park area while we all finished up and began cleaning up.
Nana made me a cake for my birthday, my favorite, chocolate with peanut butter icing! Yummy!

After a group picture, we all headed out.....Gruv & Aunt Connie to Shippensburg, Pappy, Nana, Uncle Davey & Hannah to Chambersburg & the boys & I to Martinsburg. It was a fun day to spend with Family!

Three Months Old

Liam-

You are Three Months old!!

What have you been up too?

You are drinking 6 ounces of Mommy's milk every 3 hours during the day & every 4 or 5 hours at night. As much as Mommy & Daddy enjoy holding you, we are anxiously awaiting the night that you sleep through. You love to eat. You are holding your head up by yourself for longer periods of time. When you do get tired, your little head bobs around. You are still on medicine for the acid reflux. You are not spitting up as much after a feeding therefore you haven't been screaming in pain either. You are still a gassy baby and do cry/scream with gas pains. Landon tries to make you happy by singing to you.

You are wearing stage 2 diapers. You are wearing 3-6 months clothes. I just found another basket of Landon's clothes for you to wear. I am so excited to have found it because there were many outfits in the basket that I knew Landon had & wore, but I hadn't come across them, put in your closet or drawers, but now I can!

You are awake more during the day and for longer periods of time. You now enjoy being in your bumbo & on your playmat, for short periods of time, but when you are enjoying them, you are very happy! You enjoy looking at yourself in a mirror. You love when people talk to you, especially Landon. You coo and talk back and smile and grin-so cute!

You have had a busy month. Mommy is back to work now so you are going to day care. You are spending your day with Landon, Debbie and the other kids. You have been to Daddy's hometown & visited with family.

You went to your first Shippensburg Fair.

You met & had playdates with baby Olivia....

Addison & Ben....
And Baby Clare.
You slept in your crib for the first time.
You went to Caledonia for the first time.

Mommy dipping your toes in the pool.
You enjoyed a nap w/ Liam at the pool
at Caledonia
You've been to cookouts at Nana & Pappy's house.

You have been a busy little man!

It has been a fun month.

Daddy & Mommy love watching you grow

& enjoy seeing all of your firsts.

We Love You!!

Mommy he was just hungry!

So one morning this week, I went back in the bedroom to get dressed for work while Landon was watching Thomas & Liam was content in his seat. After a few minutes I heard Liam begin to cry. Before I could get back into the family room, he had stopped. I finished getting dressed and when I came into the family room this is what I found.....
Landon was giving Liam what was left of his morning bottle that he had not finished. He said "Mommy he was just hungry." He is such a good brother & a huge help to Mommy in the mornings!! I will treasure this picture & show it to them in a few years when they are fighting over a toy.

First Night in Your Crib

We decided it was time for you to sleep in your crib since you are quickly out-growing your bassinet. The first night you slept in your crib, Monday, August 2, 2010-2 months-you did great, only waking to feed around 3am, but since then, you've been up to feed at mid-night, 3am and then 6am. We are hoping that you are just going through another growth spurt and not regressing to waking up every 3 hours to feed throughout the night.
You seem to enjoy being in the big crib, with lots of room to stretch out.
You sleep like your Daddy, with one arm up.
Sweet Dreams Baby Liam!

Landon's First Cavity

We took Landon this week to have his first cavity filled. He was very anxious & we were anxious for him! When we arrived Landon was weighed & then given meds to sedate him. We then sat in a quiet, dark room & read books & watched cartoons & waited an hour for the meds to take effect. The Dentist then came in & walked Aaron & I through what was going to take place amd offered for us to be in the room with him. We decided to stay with him, knowing how anxious he seemed. They took x-rays & got everything ready. They played an elephant nose hose on him & gave him laughing gas.
The Dentist then took care of the cavity-it was over very quickly. The entire time Landon was lying on a cozy blanket with his favorite blanket & watching cartoons.
He did really well & was very cute all loopy. The Dentist referred to everything he was doing during the procedure to children's things, such as the wedge he placed in Landon's mouth was a chicken nugget. At one point he mentioned the elephant nose & Landon said "toot, toot". That was the only funny thing he did or said though. Once the Dentist was finished, Landon received some oxygen and the Dentist spoke to us about instructions for the day.
On our drive home, Landon slept the entire way-he was exhausted. Once he woke though, he was really hungry as he hadn't had anything to eat or drink since the night before at bedtime. He ate his favorite lunch-mashed potatoes, mac-n-cheese, pears and ice cream. He slept on & off the rest of the afternoon and was back to himself when I came home from work.

An Afternoon with Friends

Yesterday we had planned to spend an afternoon at Laurel Lake with our friends, however the weather was not looking very good, so we had everyone to our house instead. It was a great afternoon spent with friends. Kyle, Tina, Ethan, James, Jenn & baby Olivia joined us for a cook-in for lunch & then spent the afternoon outside. We all haven't gotten together since before I was on bedrest, so it had been awhile.
